CUSTOM DESIGNED ITEMS shs creates custom items to order as is the case of the Pantheon tile below. The item is the sketch which was crafted as part of a large 'Tableau' scene for a Wedding in Rome. Traditionally a 'Tableau' is a a huge canvas that gives the seating arrangements for an average of 150 Wedding Reception guests. It usually has just the name of a table and the guest names and it is placed on an easle at the Reception hall entry. In this case the Bride requested Rome Landmarks to identify the different tables. The same particular Landmark design was also placed on each individual table. Additional original sketches can be viewed upon request. |

PAINTINGS ON TILES The image below is one of Ms. Sogaro's favorites. Having worked near the Roman Aqueduct for over 6 years, she grew very fond of this ancient construction. As is historically known, the Ancient Romans built many such constructions to transport water from the hills and mountains in Italy to the townships below, some as far away as 57 miles. The invading armies built the same aqueducts in the conquered areas as the Empire grew, and many are still standing in Spain, (Segovia), Greece (Kavala), France , Ceaseria in Palestine and even as far as North Africa (Algeria) and Asia Minor. This original art work is composed of eight 8"x8" tiles with the hand painted design. It is seen at dawn, with the rays of the new sun giving the picture its unique golden hue.
